It may be 40 years since the release of In The City, Paul Weller’s landmark album and the mod rock record that helped put the Jam on the map, but this gig isn’t about looking in the rearview mirror.
An artist with a seemingly endless supply of creative inspiration and energy, who has never stopped to rest on his laurels, Weller is marking the anniversary of this beloved record not with a reissue or reunion tour but by doing what he does best: releasing brand new material in his never-ending quest to make new and exciting sounds.
With the release of A Kind Revolution, Weller’s eagerly anticipated 13th studio album, the artist is taking to the road to play it for you live, and he’s pretty sure you’re going to like what you hear.
The album features guest vocalists such as PP Arnold and Madeleine Bell, along with legends like Boy George and the inimitable Robert Wyatt. The guitar chops of The Strypes’ Josh McClorey have also been enlisted. Onstage? Well, you never know who’ll make an appearance, but you can bet on an evening of great songs played with enormous style and soul by a living legend of rock.
