Wiley is known as the “Godfather of UK grime”. Back in the day he organised the Eskimo Dance raves which consolidated the grime scene, as well as helping to bring through younger artists like Tinchy Stryder and Dizzee Rascal.
Known for his signature “Eskibeat” style, Wiley honed his vocal technique by taking on other MCs live on air on Rinse FM, the influential London-based radio station.
In January 2017 Wiley released a new album, The Godfather, which saw him come to terms with his nickname. With a sequel to that album planned for 2018, this is a great chance for you to see the past, present, and future of UK grime at this hotly-anticipated Olympia Theatre gig.
